"The capacity to hold two or more discordant thoughts in mind simultaneously is a remarkable product of the evolution of consciousness.

Embracing contradiction is at the source of the creative impulse. The works in this show convey co-existent paradoxes with varying degrees of controlled romanticism and candor. These are invented realms referencing narratives that are both contemporary and cyclical...stories of destruction and transformation, myth and materiality, desperate fracture and potential renewal. To acknowledge these conflicting states, stay with them and present them, unresolved but deeply felt, is part of a challenging creative endeavor. Translating that dissonance into something tactile that keeps a viewer attentive and absorbed so that they also feel this conflict is a hard won goal.

These works all honor the orthodoxy of seduction as a means to communicate, reveal and discuss discordance....keeping us in unsettled, elusively harmonious spaces...just long enough."
